Settings overview
A guided overview of the complete Settings window.
Settings
General
Language, output style, and feedback.
Choose the language hint used for original output, select what kind of text Vordi produces, and tune the feedback surface shown while you dictate.
Settings
Shortcuts
Push-to-talk, Hands-free, and exit keys.
Change the global shortcut for each capture action, review modifier requirements, or restore the defaults when macOS already owns a key.
Settings
Dictation
Provider, credentials, microphone, and streaming.
Choose the transcription provider, manage its API credentials, select available microphone behavior, and enable realtime streaming when the configured route supports it.
Settings
AI Models
Post-processing and memory AI.
Choose the provider and model used to clean transcripts or answer from memory. Supported local HTTP and CLI routes can keep model work on-device.
Settings
Connect Agents
Let compatible agents read Vordi memory.
Connect Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and compatible MCP clients to the bundled read-only Vordi server. The setup merges the appropriate local configuration without granting transcript-write access.
System
Permissions
macOS access required for capture and typing.
Review Microphone, Accessibility, Input Monitoring, and optional Screen Recording access. Each permission includes a direct route to the relevant macOS privacy pane.
System
Data & Privacy
Run history, context capture, and local data.
Control run history, optional screenshot and clipboard context, custom vocabulary, analytics preference, and deletion of locally stored Vordi data.
System
Dev Mode
Experimental developer routing.
Configure beta or advanced context-aware behavior intended for development and testing. These controls can change faster than the normal product surface.
System
Setup
Onboarding and recovery actions.
Re-run onboarding, revisit permission guidance, repair the first-run setup, and access supported app actions without resetting normal run history.
Vordi keeps preferences, run history, and memory data locally unless a selected transcription or AI provider needs specific input to perform its task. Permission labels and controls may vary slightly across Vordi and macOS releases.
