Hands-free Mode

Hands-free Mode keeps capture active while you work, so you can dictate longer passages without holding a key. The Dynamic Notch shows when Vordi is listening, processing, and ready for the next thought.

How it works

From action to result.

  1. 01

    Focus the destination

Place the cursor in the app or field where the completed text should appear.

  2. 02

    Start Hands-free Mode

Use the configured Hands-free shortcut. The Dynamic Notch expands and confirms that continuous capture is active.

  3. 03

    Speak without holding a key

Continue dictating naturally while Vordi keeps recording and the notch reflects the live capture state.

  4. 04

    Stop capture

Use the shortcut again or stop from the Dynamic Notch. Vordi sends the recording through transcription and cleanup.

  5. 05

    Review the result

The cleaned transcript is inserted into the focused field and the completed run is available from Run Log.

Where to find it

Use the Hands-free shortcut from any app. Configure it under Settings → Shortcuts.

What Vordi stores or changes

Hands-free runs follow the same local history and provider rules as normal transcription. Audio or text is shared only with the transcription and AI providers selected in Settings.
