Normal Transcription
Vordi records from the configured microphone, transcribes your speech, applies the selected cleanup, and injects the result into the field you were already using.
How it works
From action to result.
- 01
Focus any text field
Place the cursor in email, chat, notes, an editor, or any macOS field that accepts typing.
- 02
Hold your dictation shortcut
Hold Fn by default. The Vordi recording surface confirms that capture is active.
- 03
Speak, then release
Vordi sends the captured audio through the configured transcription and cleanup pipeline, then types the result into the focused field.
- 04
Open Run Log
Open the Vordi dashboard and choose Run Log to see recent dictations in chronological order.
- 05
Inspect the run
Open a run to review capture, transcription, post-processing, timing, source context, and audio playback when available.
Where to find it
Dashboard → Run Log. The latest runs also surface from the Vordi recording interface and menu-bar controls.
What Vordi stores or changes
Run history is stored locally under Application Support. A configured cloud provider may receive selected audio or text during transcription or cleanup.
